If you want to see the giant potato cod at the famous Cod Hole and experience the endless visibility in the Coral Sea, then this 5 day 4 night liveaboard trip is the option for you!

This trip takes in the Ribbon Reefs as well as the remote Osprey Reef where you will experience some of the best diving and snorkelling sites on the Great Barrier Reef. The Ribbon Reefs extend southwards from Lizard Island and include the famous Cod Hole, where you can feed the Giant Potato Cod and view a huge variety of marine life.

At Osprey Reef you will have the opportunity to do some of the most stunning wall dives with an average of 40+ metres visibility at each site.

Taka is a 30metre steel, monohull which can sleep up to 30 divers and snorkellers onboard. Cabins onboard are either Stateroom cabins, double or twin ensuite cabins, standard twin cabin (share facilities) or quad share cabins (share facilities).

There is an option to take part in PADI Advanced course whilst carrying out the 10 dives available. If photography interests you then there is also an option to take part in an underwater photography course. This course is an addition and can be organised on board the vessel. The course cost excludes camera hire. The course is run using digital Sea & Sea cameras (hired on board) or your personal digital camera.

Taka Dive also now has Nitrox courses and tank fills (EANX certified divers only) available onboard the vessel. The course and fills can be organised on board the vessel.

Taka is one of the few dive vessels with a "Swim with Minke Whale" permit. These gentle giants are sighted during June and July each year.

Bookings

We strongly advise that you pre-book your liveaboard trip as availability may be limited if you leave it until you arrive in Cairns. You can pre-book your liveaboard trip by emailing us with your preferred travel date, names of passengers travelling and your credit card details, as we require payment in full to confirm your booking. Once we have completed your booking we will send you confirmation by email.

If you can also advise us of your accommodation in Cairns, we can arrange transfers for you. If you are unsure of your accommodation in Cairns, you can contact us on arrival into Cairns and advise us then.

Cancellation Policy

• 20% cancellation fee if trip is cancelled 30 days prior to departure
• 50% cancellation fee if trip is cancelled within 30 days prior to departure
• 100% cancellation fee if trip is cancelled within 14 days prior to departure

• In the case of extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, Taka Dive reserves the right to adjust or cancel the standard itinerary.
• We recommend the individual purchase of TRAVEL insurance.
• Dive Insurance for medical evacuation is available on board at a cost of AUD$25 (Cod Hole Tour) or AUD$30 (Coral Sea Tour)
